To enable an external device such as a PC to easily and quickly control a non-contact communication part incorporated, mounted and so on in communication equipment through an external interface.
Changeover switches 30, 31 and 32 are provided between a first communication part 7 and the external interface 20 and between a second communication part 4 and a non-contact IC card 10 so as to be switchable to a non-contact communication part connection mode for connecting the external interface 20 and the non-contact IC card 10. When a serial command for accessing the non-contact IC card 10 is inputted to the external interface 20 from the external device 50, the changeover switches 30 to 32 are switched to the non-contact communication part connection modes, and the external interface 20 is directly connected with the non-contact IC card 10 through signal lines 120 and 130 by bypassing a communication processing part 100 which enables the external device 50 to directly control the non-contact IC card 10 without going through the communication processing part 100.
