This compact planing boat is provided with a ship body 2 formed of a deck 4 and a hull 3, an engine room 10 formed in a front part inside of the ship body 2, a standing deck 6 formed on the deck in the rear of the engine room 10 and having a flat bottom part, on which a pilot stands, a battery 14 for supplying power, provided near a front end of the standing deck 6, and a battery cover 17 for covering an upper part and a rear part of the battery 14 freely to be opened upward. The standing deck 6 is recessed to be surrounded in three directions of both sides and a front thereof by curving the deck 4, and a battery housing chamber 16 is formed by the battery cover 17 and the deck parts in the three directions.
