PURPOSE: To provide a compact portable electric apparatus such as an electric shaver, wherein a spare cell is provided so that when power of a currently empolyed cell has been exhausted the exhausted cell can be replaced by the spare cell.

CONSTITUTION: Through a joint 2, inner blades 3 can be slided against an outer blade 4. An outer blade frame 5 supports at its upper end the outer blade 4 and is secured at its lower portion to an outer frame base 6 by screws. A cell holder 10 and an inner box 9 cojointly holds a cell 11. The holder 10 and the inner box 9 are engaged through a projection 12 on an upper part of the holder 10 and a recess 13 in the inner box 9, and the holder 10 is detachable due to its resiliency. A cell 11 is biased by one of springs 14 against a top wall of the inner box 9 and is contacted with a positive pole of motor 1. One end of a switching contact 15 is remainded contact with a box 8 which is conductive with a negative pole of the cell and another end of the switching contact 15 can be contacted with a motor contact 18, which is lead from a negative pole of the motor 1, by action of a switching button 16, and accordingly switching operation can be effected. A spare cell 17 can replace the cell 11 by dismantling the holder 11.
