Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety in a process for compacting substances of aUtogenous combustion.
SOLUTION: This method is suitable to compact substances of aUtogenous combustion. With the lower end 15 of a compacting means 47 interlocked at least partially with a compacting skirt 3 before it comes in contact with a container 1, the air existing in a space between the container 1, the compacting skirt 3 and the compacting means 4 is exhausted by an inactive gas blowN into the space. When the self-burning substances are compacted by pressing the lower end 15 of the compacting means 4 against the container 1, moreover, the air in the space between the container 1, the skirt 3 and the means 4 is scavenged by the flow of the inactive gas. In the two consecutive air blowing and cleaning operations mentioned above, the inactive gas is carried through the compacting means 4 and is blown into the space from the lower end of it.
