PURPOSE: To provide the subject novel compounds useful for detection of tumors, and as a therapeutic agent, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The compd. of formula I [R1, R2 are each -CH=CH2, -CH/OH/- CH3, -CH/OR3/-CH3 (R3 is a group forming oligomer contg. an ether and/or an ester bond), etc.; A is a basic amino acid; m is 2-6; n is 1-5]. The compd. of the formula I is obtd., for example, by reacting a hematoporpnyrin deriv. of formula II with a basic amino acid accompanied by a free or protected carboxy group in a medium contg. an org. solvent and water.
