Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mount device and a method that can reduce a load imposed on an operator for a feeding pitch changing work and supply alternative components to a component suction position when a preset carrier tape feeding pitch is different from a formation pitch of pockets which hold the alternative components and are formed in the carrier tape.SOLUTION: A component mount device is provided with a component supply device for intermittently feeding, on the basis of a preset feeding pitch, a carrier tape having plural pockets which are formed at a certain pitch and in which components are mounted. A first recognizing camera first images the pockets prior to manufacturing of mount boards. Subsequently, a controller measures the formation pitch of the pockets based on the imaging data. When the formation pitch of the pockets is different from the preset feeding pitch, the controller changes the carrier tape feeding pitch from the preset feeding pitch to the pocket formation pitch. Subsequently, the component supply device intermittently feeds the carrier tape based on the changed feeding pitch.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
