To provide a composite aluminum nitride powder that has excellent thermal conductivity when filled in resin.SOLUTION: Provided is a composite aluminum nitride powder containing an aluminum nitride particle and a metal oxide particle with a Mohs hardness of 7 or less, and in which at least a part of the aluminum nitride particle has the metal oxide particle fixed to the surface via a Si-O bond, and the contained amount of metal oxide particle is 5 to 40 mass% for the total of the aluminum nitride particle and the metal oxide particle.SELECTED DRAWING: None
