Title:
COMPOSITE HYDROGEN STORAGE ALLOY AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3394567
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a hydrogen storage allay high in hydrogen occuluding rate and capable of occuluding and releasing hydrogen at a low temp. and to provide a method therefor.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of high hydrogen storage allay grains and low temp. hydrogen storage alloy grains is subjected to thermal spraying under the reduced pressure to form a laminated body in which amorphously formed high hydrogen storage alloy grain pieces and low temp. hydrogen storage allay pieces are laminated (integrated) in large numbers. Next, this laminated body is subjected to diffusion joining treatment to produce a composite hydrogen storage allay in which the high hydrogen storage allay pieces and low temp. hydrogen storage alloy pieces are joined by diffusion joining layers. In this composite hydrogen storage allay, the entrance and exit of hydrogen between both hydrogen storage allay pieces is facilitated by their amorphousness, and the movement of hydrogen between both hydrogen storage alloy pieces is facilitated by the diffusion joining layers. Thus, the composite hydrogen storage alloy combining the high hydrogen occuluding rate of the high hydrogen storage alloy and the low occuluding and releasing temp. of the low temp. hydrogen storage alloy can be obtd.
