PURPOSE: To form a composite nonwoven fabric by laminating a paper sheet on a spun-bonded nonwoven fabric and entangling the fibers with a high-pressure water jet and to obtain a sanitary material having soft feeling and keeping the dry feeling of the surface even after the permeation of body fluid by using the composite nonwoven fabric as the top sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The composite nonwoven fabric having a delamination strength (JIS P-8111) of 20-400g.f/50mm is produced by laminating a paper tray on a spun-bonded nonwoven polypropylene fabric and integrating the layers by treating the paper-side face of the laminate with a high-pressure water jet at an added specific energy E of 0.03-0.25kwh/kg. The specific energy E is calculated by E={A×(2/ρ)1/2×(g×P)3/2}/{(M0+M1)×60×S} wherein ρ is density (kg/cm3) of water, (g) is acceleration of gravity (m/s2), P is water pressure (Pa) at the nozzle part, S is permeation rate (m/min) of the composite nonwoven fabric, and MO and M1 are areal densities (g/m2) of the paper sheet and the spun-bonded nonwoven fabric, respectively. A sanitary material is produced by using the composite nonwoven fabric having a basic weight of 20-100g/m2 as the top sheet 1 and inserting a second sheet 2 and an absorbent 4 between the top sheet 1 and a back sheet 3.
