Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which has little toxicity or side effect and has excellent anticarcinogenic effect.
SOLUTION: An aqueous suspension of microbles is obtd. by culturing M. Tuberculosis. The suspension is heated under a pressure and filtered, and sulfosalicylic acid is added to the filtrate and, after removing precipitate, it is dialyzed. Then, phosphotungstic acid is added to the dialyzed solution and after removing precipitate, it is dialyzed. Then, ethanol is added further to the dialyzed solution to obtain precipitate. The objective composite polysaccharide composed of mannose, arabinose, glucose and galactose, and having not more than 7,000 mol.wt. is obtd. from the precipitate by removing lipids and protein components by ethanol or ether extraction. The manufacturing method of the composite polysaccharide is also provided.
