Abstract:

To provide a composite roll for rolling, whose drive shaft side to be linked to a drive mechanism has high strength so as to be compatible with bending stress and torsional stress that are exerted by a rolling mill.

The composite roll for rolling includes: an outer layer 30; a barrel 22 around the periphery of which, the outer layer 30 is formed; and a shaft core 20 that projects the drive shaft 24 to be linked to the drive mechanism from one end in a rotary axis direction of the barrel, and also projects a driven shaft 26 to be linked to a non-drive side mechanism from the other end. In the shaft core, tensile strength of the drive shaft is higher than that of the driven shaft by 50 MPa or more.
