PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out both grinding and cutting processes, by providing a thin base plate cutting means, an ingot support means including a movable bed and an indexing slide and a grinding tool support means including a grinding tool and a movable bed.

CONSTITUTION: A thin base plate cutting means 10 has a bearing 11 secured to the top section of center of a base bed 1, and is provided with a blade securing frame 12 and a blade 13. An ingot support means 20 is provided with a movable bed 21 which is attached movably in the vertical direction to the base bed 1, and an indexing slide 23 on the outer surface of a slide loading section 22, which is movable back and forth. A grinding tool supporting means 30 is provided with a vertically movable bed 31 attached to the base bed 1 and a motor 36 which is mounted thereon with a grinding tool 35 and adapted to rotate the latter. A thin base plate holding means 40 has a rotary bed 41 which is attached on the base bed 1 and which may be rotated by a predetermined angle.
