To provide a composite textile yarn which has both a hydrophilic type fiber and a hydrophobic type fiber and has a transition region between the central hydrophilic fibers and the peripheral hydrophobic fibers.

The composite textile yarn and the moisture management fabric made from the yarns are provided. The yarn comprises hydrophilic fibers embedded substantially at the yarn center within a matrix of the hydrophobic fibers concentrated at the periphery of the yarn.
