PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder composition for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, which can achieve a high electrode density because of a low swelling property of a resin to an electrolytic solution, thereby enhancing battery characteristics.SOLUTION: Provided are a binder aqueous solution for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, a slurry composition for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery negative electrode arranged by use thereof, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, etc. The binder aqueous solution comprises a neutralized salt of an α-olefin-maleic acid copolymer resulting from the copolymerization of α-olefin and maleic acid, of which the swelling rate to an electrolytic solution is 1.0-1.1.SELECTED DRAWING: None
