Abstract:

To provide a pharmaceutical preparation inhibiting PCSK9 gene expression and treating diseases relating to the PCSK9 gene expression, for example, hyperlipemia.

There is disclosed a double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA) for inhibiting expression of PCSK9 gene comprising an antisense chain having nucleotide sequences which is less than 30 nucleotides in length and usually 19 to 25 nucleotides in length and is substantially complementary to at least a part of PCSK9 gene. There are also disclosed a pharmaceutical composition comprising the dsRNA together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, and a method for inhibiting expression of PCSK9 gene, and a method for treating diseases caused by the expression of the gene, by using the composition, respectively.
