Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. for polyolefin fibers having an improved flame resistance and no corrosive properties by compounding an olefin polymer with a specific complex, poly(1,4-diisopropylbenzene), and an org. epoxide.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn. comprises 0.3-3 wt.% complex of formula I, 0.1-1 wt.% poly(1,4-diisopropylbenzene) of formula II, 0.1-0.5 wt.% org. epoxide, and the balance to 100 wt.% being an olefin polymer. In formula I, R is an amine selected from among dicyandiamide, guanamine, 2-guanidinoimidazole, melamine, isophoronediamine, piperazine, etc., and optionally substd. by an alkyl, aryl, or acyl group; Me is Bi or Sb; X is Cl or Br; and y is 0.3-4.0. In formula II, n is 3-7.
