Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for preventing or treating periodontosis comprising a tobacco extract.
SOLUTION: This composition for preventing or treating periodontosis comprises a tobacco extract as an active ingredient. A tabacco as a plant, a processed material thereof or a tabacco for smoking can be utilized as a raw material for the tabacco extract. A carrier for the tabacco extract is a solution, a paste, a jelly, a gum or a solid. The tabacco extract is obtained as an aqueous solution or by using the aqueous solution as a solvent and an extract separated in the vapor phase or liquid shape can be used. The tabacco extract is one of alkaloids, terpenoids and carotenoids of the tabacco or a mixture thereof and the extract containing one or more selected from alkaloids unique to the tobacco, related compounds thereof and compounds composed of the derivatives thereof is effective.
