Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a carbon monoxide removing agent having large treatment capacity used in a gas mask for refuge, by mixing activated zeolite in a manganese dioxide/cuppric oxide type carbon monoxide removing agent.

CONSTITUTION: Activated zeolite such as faujasite type zeolite is compounded with a manganese dioxide/cuppric oxide carbon monoxide removing agent (Mn-Cu type agent) so that a zeolite/Mn-Cu type agent compounding ratio is 5/5W1/9. The obtained composition is reduced in the rising of temp. at the treatment time of gas and large in treatment capacity as compared with the Mn-Cu type agent alone. Zeolite having combined water or one deactivated by calcination has no carbon monoxide removing capacity enhancing action. Further, it is unnecessary to uniformly mix zeolite and only the mixing-in of zeolite particles is sufficient.
