Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an organic compound as an efficient and durable organic electroluminescent element material, which has excellent hole injection/transport performance and electron stopping capability and is stable in a thin film state; and an efficient and durable organic electroluminescent element using the compound.SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element includes a compound represented by the general formula (1) having a cyclopentaindole ring structure, and has a pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer interposed therebetween, where the compound is used as a constituent material of the at least one organic layer.
