To provide a compound for an organic EL element, having little influence of concentration quenching even when the concentration of a dopant material based on the total of the light-emitting organic compound is heightened, and providing sufficient light-emitting efficiency when used for the organic EL element, and to provide the organic EL element using the compound.
The compound for the organic EL element is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, X1 to X18 are each independently a hydrogen atom or the like, with the proviso that X3, X4, X8, X12, X13 and X17 satisfy at least one condition in the following conditions (i) and (ii): (i) X8 and X17 are each independently a 12-20C aryl group; and (ii) at least one of X3, X4, X12 and X13 is an aryl group which may have a substituent, or a heterocyclic group which may have a substituent).
