Abstract:
To provide a compression membrane for a filter press and an operation method where backwashing can be performed while compressing a dehydrated cake.SOLUTION: In a filter press where a stock solution is supplied to a filtration chamber 9 formed between a pair of filter plates 4A, 4B with a filter cloth 21 for filtration stretched thereon: a compressed fluid is supplied to a compression chamber 13 formed in the filtration chamber 9 and a dehydrated cake in the filtration chamber 9 is compressed and dehydrated by expanding a compression membrane 12; backwashing can be performed while compressing the dehydrated cake by providing the compression membrane 12 made of the filter cloth having lower permeability than the filter cloth for filtration on the surface of the filter plate 4A for compression forming the compression chamber 13; and the shortening of an operation time and the reduction of power consumption can be realized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
