Abstract:
PURPOSE: To compress still image data efficiently through 2-stages of compression processing sets.
CONSTITUTION: The compressor is made up of a CPU 1, a ROM 2, a RAM 3, an arithmetic processor 4, a frame memory 5, a camera controller 6, a camera 7, and an external memory 8 and image data are divided into 1/10 by each spatial frequency band through 2-dimension wavelet transformation. Then the image data are efficiently compressed through a 1st stage compression processing applying Huffman coding to transformation coefficients quantized by each block to generate compression data and a 2nd stage compression processing compressing the compression data with a slide dictionary method.
