Abstract:

To provide a computer device which is capable of preferentially receiving specific data like voice data without burdening a CPU in a congested state and to provide a packet reception control method.

A function block of the CPU is provided with a means for measuring a use rate of the CPU and an interface for making a reception driver refer to the use rate of the CPU, and the reception driver periodically reads in the CPU use rate and, in the case of excess over an upper limit of the CPU use rate, reduces event reports from the reception driver to higher levels by receiving only data having packet lengths equal to or shorter than a set threshold and discarding long packets having lengths longer than the threshold.
