PURPOSE: To realize a connecting structure of a connecting rod to a piston having a simple structure with a drastically light weight by having, at least either one of piston pin and a bearing portion in a piston hole provided on a piston pin skirt with which the piston pin to be fixed to the small end of a connecting rod makes slidable contact, made of resin material.

CONSTITUTION: The piston is composed of a piston crown member 6 made of aluminum alloy and a piston pin skirt member 4 made of heat resistant resin having self-lubricity, for exmaple, polymide resin mixed with lubricant like graphite, and a piston pin hole 3 for allowing penetration of piston in the radial direction is formed in the piston pin skirt member 4. And the metallic piston pin, for exmaple, made of aluminum alloy and, to be inserted through the piston pin hole 3 is fixed by being pressed into the piston pin hole formed on the small end of the connecting rod. Such a connecting structure of the piston to the connecting rod like this may realize a simple structure and a drastically light weight, moreover the manufacture can be easily carried out.
