A male terminal comprises a supporting part composed of a male terminal body 5 and the like slidably supporting a male tab 3, and a biasing means 6 biasing the male tab 3 in the direction of pulling out from a fitting part 1 of a female terminal 2. Locking parts 10, 13, holding the male tab 3 and an insulation displaced part composed of an elastic tongue-shaped piece 12 and the like in locked state when separating a male terminal 4 from the female terminal 2, are formed between the locking part 1 of the female terminal 2 and the male tab 3 of the male terminal 4, and the locking force of the locking parts 10, 13 is set bigger than the biasing force of the energizing means 6 at the initial stage of above separating operation.
