Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint capable of corresponding to changes of a number of balls, even with a low cost.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint includes: an inner ring 10 formed with a plurality of track grooves 16 and 18 extending in an axial direction on an outer peripheral surface; an outer ring 20 formed with a plurality of track grooves 26 and 28 extending in the axial direction on an inner peripheral surface; a plurality of balls 30 disposed on ball tracks formed by the track grooves 16 and 18 of the inner ring 10 and the track grooves 26 and 28 of the outer ring 20 making pairs, and transmitting torque between the inner ring 10 and the outer ring 20; and a cage 32 interposed between the outer peripheral surface 14 of the inner ring 10 and the inner peripheral surface 24 of the outer ring 20 to hold the balls 30. An even number of the ball tracks exists, and the ball tracks include first ball tracks 16 and 26 for a fixed type constant velocity universal joint, and second ball tracks 18 and 28 for a sliding type constant velocity universal joint.
