To provide a construction material that is not harmful for men and that can be used for various purposes.
This construction material, which is used for a construction member obtained after kneaded with water, is produced by mixing a calcium carbonate agent into a gypsum raw material and blending the mixture and a hollow glass raw material (balloon material 11) made of mineral oxides obtained by burning glassy volcanic rocks. The desirable mean particle size of the glass raw material (balloon material 11) is about 35-75 μm. The recommended weight mixture ratio is 30-80 wt.% gypsum raw material, 10-60 wt.% calcium carbonate agent and about 10 wt.% glass material (balloon material 11). Further, blending of a photo catalyst or an aluminum silicate hydrate clay mineral to the originally harmless construction material promotes absorption of inorganic or organic volatile materials diffused to and coming into contact with its surface, to make it further odorless and harmless.
