To solve the problem of a conventional spatter reducing method using a current rapid reducing means that an arc cutting is caused at the time of the regeneration of the arc to cause the instability of the arc, the incorrectness of a bead, the poorness of penetration or the like.
The arc welding equipment is provided with: a necking detection means for detecting necking in a consumption electrode wire occurring at the last period of a short circuit; and a physical quantity rapid reducing means for rapidly reducing the physical quantity of at least any of the electric current, voltage and electric power to be fed to the consumption electrode wire at the time when necking is detected by the necking detection means till the prescribed physical quantity of at least any of the electric current, voltage and electric power reaches a first prescribed value, thus the cutting of an arc at the time of the regeneration of the arc, the instability of the arc, the incorrectness of a bead and the poorness of penetration are prevented.
