To improve safety by detecting abnormal temperature rise of a placed object using a temperature detection element provided on an optimum position of a contactless charger and immediately stopping charging.
A temperature detection element is provided on the optimum position obtained from a result of measurement after the temperature rise of a metal foreign matter placed on a charger and the detection temperature of the temperature detection element are measured while changing the area, material and placing position of the metal foreign matter and the location of the temperature detection element. When the temperature rise of the placing object is detected on the basis of the temperature detected with the temperature detection element, charging is immediately stopped. Concretely, the temperature detection element is provided on a contact face side between the charger and a primary transmission coil so that the center of the temperature detection element can be positioned 5 mm apart from the center of the primary transmission coil in the charger. With this configuration, the abnormal temperature rise of the placing object can be detected in real time and the safety can be improved.
