Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container terminal and a portal crane, and an operation method of the container terminal which improve cargo handling efficiency while ensuring safety during the movement of the portal crane and a transport vehicle.SOLUTION: A container terminal 10 comprises: a storage lane 11 in which a plurality of containers C are stored; a transport passage 15 adjacent to the storage lane 11; and portal cranes 20A, 20B straddling the transport passage 15 and the storage lane 11. In the container terminal 10, a container truck 30 transporting the containers C travels on the transport passage 15, and the portal cranes 20A, 20B move along the storage lane 11. An approach road 16 and an exit road 17 of the container truck 30 are connected to the transport passage 15 in the middle of an extension direction of the transport passage 15 on a side surface side facing the storage lane 11.
