PURPOSE: To enable the height of a container from ground to be lowered by providing a container set-up platform with container guide grooves in a form of a lattice so as to arrange a lateral transfer device for the container in a transfer system for a refuse container.

CONSTITUTION: A container 2 carried in by a carrier 4 is transferred while rollers are set into longitudinal grooves 6 located in a zone C of a container set-up platform. Then, the container 2 is transferred with rollers 8 and 8 rotates along lateral grooves 7, to a zone A while it is pushed by a hydraulic cylinder 10. Subsequently, it is moved to the side of a compactor 1 followed by the acceptance of refuses. Then, it is transferred to a zone B by means of the hydraulic cylinder 10 allowing it to be transferred to the carrier (not shown). This configuration enables the height of the container from ground to be lowered so as to alleviate the restriction on height for operations within a premise allowing operations to be easily performed.
