PURPOSE: To execute bending of a cast slab at the position of straightening roll zone under no forced condition and to improve inner cracks in a continuously cast slab made by a continuous casting method, in which uniform metal is obtd. by preventing impurities at the center part in thickness of the continuously cast slab, i.e., in the case of a cast steel slab, preventing segregation of sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is constituted so as to set the expanding surface of a cast slab at low temp. side and the shrinking surface thereof at high temp. side at the position of bending roll zone and/or straightening roll zone of this cast slab so as to flow much water sprayed on the expanding surface and little water sprayed on the shrinking surface in the position of the above zones.
