To continuously produce high-crystalline spinel type LiMnO4 reduced in cation mixing and crystalline stress by feeding a stock solution to which a cation carrier is added to a mixed aqueous solution of a water-soluble lithium salt with manganese nitrate onto an endless belt and reacting these materials by heating.
A stock solution having ≤50 cp viscosity is prepared by adding a non-ionic water-solution polymer not containing a metal ion to a mixed aqueous solution containing a water-soluble lithium salt and manganese nitrate at a molar ratio of 1:2. The stock solution is fed from a stock solution feed tank 6 provided in a feed end part of an endless belt 4 which is cycled and moved between a driving pulley 2 and a pulley 3 to be driven and spread in uniform thin film having ≤1 mm thickness on a belt 4 by a blade 9. The film is heated in a preheating part 5a of a heating apparatus by a heater 10 and heat evaporating part 5b. Thereby, crystalline spinel type LiMnO4 powder is synthesized on the belt in a reaction synthesis part 5C and scraped by a scraper 7 in a discharge end part and recovered by a recovering vessel 11.
