PURPOSE: To provide a continuous type penicillin extraction device for rapidly extracting a raw material for producing penicillin antibiotics including penicillin G in a stable pH region, and to provide the extraction method.
CONSTITUTION: An oily phase and an alkaline aqueous solution or alkali metal- containing aqueous phase stored in tanks 200a and 200b, respectively, are fed into a W/O emulsion-preparing tank 200c and subsequently processed into a stable emulsion with a stirrer 90. The produced W/O emulsion and a penicillin- containing aqueous phase prepared in a pH of 6 are charged from the W/O emulsion-preparing tank 200c and a tank 200d, respectively, into a continuous extraction device 100, sucked from inlets 12a and 12b, respectively, by the vibration of a vibration source 30, and subsequently subjected to a stirring extraction with a stirrer 20 in the pipe 10 to extract the alkali salt of the penicillin into the aqueous phase of the W/O type emulsion. The mixed solution converted into the (W/O)/W type emulsion is discharged from the outlet 14. The mixed solution discharged from the outlet 14 is subsequently deemulsified to recover the penicillin in the aqueous phase.
