Abstract:

To perform the pressing control of the adequate magnitude by improving inconveniences of a conventional example.

This continuously variable transmission includes first and second rotating members 10, 20, a planetary ball 30 held by the first and second rotating members 10, 20, a speed change device for changing the speed by the tilting operation of the planetary ball 30, a pressing device 70 for outputting the pressure for generating the pressing load from the first rotating member 10 to the planetary ball 30 and the pressing load from the second rotating member 20 to the planetary ball 30, and a temperature sensor 81 arranged so as to detect at least any one of the temperature on the reference rolling track between the first rotating member 10 and the planetary ball 30, and the temperature on the reference rolling track between the second rotating member 20 and the planetary ball 30. The elastic deformation amounts of the first rotating member 10, the second rotating member 20, and the planetary ball 30 caused by the pressure of the pressing device 70 are calculated. The temperature on the actual rolling track is estimated by correcting the detected temperature based on the elastic deformation amounts. The pressure of the pressing device 70 is controlled based on the estimated temperature of the actual rolling track.
