PURPOSE: To suppress deterioration of torque-down, and frequency of temperature rise of an exhaust system by varying torque-down requring conditions according to degrees of temperature rise of an exhaust system.
CONSTITUTION: An ABS/TCS unit 32 computes speed difference between front and rear wheels based on a wheel speed sensing signal from a wheel speed sensor 33 in the case that slippage occurs or speed difference generates between the wheels due to shifting down for executing engine brake during running of a car with the speed of 300rpm. In addition, torque-down level is calculated based on the speed difference, and output to an EGI unit 31 for controlling an engine. An exhaust temperature is increased in a specified area where a throttle valve opening is 30 percent or more and rotation load is high. In the case that traction control is executed exceeding the specified operation time, the torque-down level is varied, a cylinder number of fuel cut is increased by one, and then traction control is executed.
