Abstract:

To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately executing fail-safe control in the case of abnormality of a pressure sensor.

A device carries out an output limiting process if there is one or less pressure sensor judged to be normal in a second judging process by a second processing unit. At the time only one of the pressure sensor 51(#1) or 51(#4) is judged to be normal in the second judging process by the second processing unit, when the sensor and the pressure sensor 51(#2), 51(#3) connected only with a first processing unit are judged to be normal in a first judging process by the first processing unit (execution mode C), a process concerning fuel injection based on a value sensed by the pressure sensor judged normal in the second judging process is carried out, and the degree of limitation of an engine output by an output limiting process is made smaller compared with when both the pressure sensor and the pressure sensor 51(#2), 51(#3) are judged to be abnormal in the first judging process (execution mode B).
