This control device for the iron receiving quantity of the molten metal container comprises level measuring means 10A, 10B for measuring the edge level of the molten metal containers 5A, 5B for receiving the molten metal 2 in an opening part opened at the upper part, and the surface level of the molten metal, and a control device connected to the level measuring means 10A, 10B to compare the edge level with the molten metal surface level, to determine the full level of the molten metal containers 5A, 5B when the difference between the edge level and the molten metal surface level is on a prescribed level and to stop receiving iron into the molten metal containers 5A, 5B.
