Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend capacitor life while shortening standby time for starter starting when there is reverse transition from CS mode to CD mode.SOLUTION: A drive system includes a starter motor, a lateral engine, and a motor/generator. A power source system includes a high energy battery, a capacitor, and a hybrid control module which controls charging/discharging of the capacitor. In a control device of an FF plug-in hybrid vehicle which enables external charging with the high energy battery, a hybrid control module that performs engine start control, mode selection control, and capacitor charging/discharging control, when there is reverse transition from "CS mode" to "CD mode", a charging current is reduced as a capacitor temperature rises for re-charging the capacitor, to be ready for starter starting.
