To provide a control device of a generator for a power generation plant, the control device allowing a start pattern corresponding to the loaded condition of a power system bus line to be selected for starting a gas turbine directly connected to the generator by using the generator as a motor in a gas turbine power generation plant.
A quick-start pattern and a normal-start pattern are prepared in a thyristor startup device 3 as operation patterns when executing starting operation by using a generator 1 as a motor. A control part 8 inputs the loaded condition of a power system bus line 6, collates it with a preset threshold value, then selects either of the quick-start/normal-start patterns, and commands the thyristor startup device 3 to start operation.
