Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively control insect pests for a long period of time without development of insecticide resistance, by spraying a water-soluble polymer and applying or releasing a very small natural enemy.
SOLUTION: A water-soluble polymer (e.g. pregelatinized starch) is sprayed on crops or insect pests and a very small natural enemy (preferably Harmonia axyridis, Orius sauteri Poppius, Onshitutuyakobati a wasp like Coccophagus yoshidai Nakayama parasitic to green-house or Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias- hernriot) is applied to be released to the crops. Preferably, the application or release of the very small natural enemy is carried out one or more days after the spray of the water-soluble polymer and the concentration of the water- soluble polymer is about 100-10,000ppm.
