PURPOSE: To improve the rolling capacity of a reversible hot strip mill by finding the acceleration and deceleration rate of a material to be rolled, calculating the holding time to hold rolling speed of a transfer table for the material to be rolled from the acceleration and deceleration rate and transfering the material to be rolled at the rolling speed and the retention time.
CONSTITUTION: The distance (quantity of kickout) from the tail end of the material to be rolled to the center position of the rolling mill when the material to be rolled pass through a rolling mill and is stopped in the process that the normal rotation rolling of the material to be rolled is changed into the next reverse rotation rolling at the reversing hot strip mill 1 is controlled. Then the acceleration and deceleration rate is found. The retention time (t) of the rolling speed to be kept on the transfer tables 5, 5A for the material to be rolled is calculated from that acceleration and deceleration rate. The material to be rolled is transferred at the rolling speed and the retention time. Accordingly, the rolling capacity of the reversing hot strip mill is improved.
