A screen printer 1 detects printed circuit boards P delivered sequentially, and transmits the detection data to a computer 7, and the computer 7 prepares a list corresponding to the printed circuit boards P in the delivery order and transmits the data on the list to an electronic component attachment device 2. When a printed circuit board P is detected by the received attachment device 2, it is determined whether the detected printed circuit board P is included in the list. When it is determined that the detected printed circuit board P is included in the list and it is confirmed that the printed circuit board P detected in the screen printer 1 is also in the attachment device 2, it is determined whether the machine type of a printed circuit board P to be produced now and the one of a printed circuit board P to be produced the next time are same or not. When it is determined that the above-mentioned machine types are different, the attachment device 2 produces the printed circuit board P to be produced now and conveys it to the downstream work device, after which the operation is stopped in the attachment device 2.
