Title:
CONTROL METHOD FOR TEEMING FLOW OF CONTINUOUS PIG
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5548455
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture molded pigs even in form by adequately controlling a pouring rate by adjusting the slanting angle of a molten-iron basin in accordance with the flow rate of molten iron.

CONSTITUTION: Under throat part 5 of molten-iron basin 4, support axis 9 is provided and at the bottom of molten-iron basin 4, oil pressure cylinder 12 is fixed by a pivot, enabling basin 4 to rotate freely. Further, throat part 5 of molten-iron basin 4 is provided with detection terminal 16 using a photoelectric switch, etc. While molten iron 2 overflowing from throat part 5 pours into moving mold 7 by way of molten-iron conduit 6, photoelectric switch 16 sends a signal of light to a photo detector in accordance with the degree of an insufficient or excessive flow rate of the molten iron, thereby exciting solenoid 15b or 15a. Consequently, an oil pressure cylinder operates to increase or decrease the slanting angle of molten-iron basin 4, so that the flow rate of molten iron 2 flowing from throat part 5 will be controlled. Therefore, molded pigs of invariably-constant weight can continuously be manufactured by moving mold 7.
