Title:
CONTROL ROD FOR NUCLEAR REACTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6024342
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve remarkably the corrosion resistance of a control rod made of Hf in water at a high temp. by adding Zr, one or more among Fe, Cr and Ni, and soluble oxygen to Hf.

CONSTITUTION: A control rod for a nuclear reactor is made of an alloy consisting of ≥95wt% Hf, ≤4wt% Zr, 300W1,000ppm in total of one or more among Fe, Cr and Ni, and soluble oxygen by an amount satisfying an equation 1≤ (Fe+Cr+Ni)/O. Even when the control rod is held in steam generated from pure water of 5W7pH contg. ≤0.5ppm dissolved oxygen at 500°C and 105kgf/cm2 for 24hr, the extent of corrosion is increased only by ≤about 20mg/dm2.
