Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate uncomfortable riding feeling when the change occurs in behavior of a driving car, by suppressing the change in engagement of a torque distribution control clutch, when a certain condition is satisfied for the driving car.

CONSTITUTION: For a four-wheel drive car, after the output of an engine 10 is transmitted to an automatic speed changer 14 through a clutch 12, it is divided into two at a center differential device 20, and is transmitted to front/ rear wheels 24, 28 through differential devices for front/rear wheels 22, 26, respectively. A differential control clutch 82 is arranged as a torque distribution control clutch between input/output members 32 and 44 of the center differential device 20. The differential control clutch 82 performs control by an electronic control device 86 through a clutch hydraulic control circuit 84, based on the driving state of the car that is detected at each sensors from 100 to 118. When the driving state satisfies a certain condition, the change in engagement is thus suppressed.
