The controller of the hybrid vehicle is provided with a hybrid change gear having a plurality of rotary elements whose gear ratios are different and to which an engine, a first motor generator, a second motor generator and a driving wheel are respectively connected; a control means for achieving a hybrid mode to drive both the engine and the first and second motor generators and an electric automobile mode to drive only the first and second motor generators. The control means makes the hybrid vehicle travel by increasing the number of revolutions higher than the predetermined number of revolutions without firing the engine when the vehicle travels in the electronic automobile mode.
