Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove deposits on a fuel injection valve with higher pressure of fuel injection and to minimize deterioration in performance due to the higher pressure of the fuel injection.SOLUTION: For the problem to be solved, a controller for an internal combustion engine that includes a fuel injection valve which injects fuel directly into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine and control means of raising fuel injection pressure of the fuel injection valve up to predetermined pressure when deposits are accumulated in an injection hole of the fuel injection valve is characterized in that the control means calculates fuel injection pressure at which a target injection time of the fuel injection valve is minimized and controls a high-pressure pump so that fuel is injected at the fuel injection pressure.
