Abstract:
To provide a controller capable of using an upstream side fuel injection valve for engine starting while suppressing fuel storage during combustion at the initial stage of starting including first explosion, for an internal combustion engine comprising a port fuel injection valve, the upstream side fuel injection valve and a heater.SOLUTION: A controller controls an internal combustion engine comprising: a port fuel injection valve provided at an intake port connected to each cylinder; an upstream side fuel injection valve provided in an intake passage on the upstream side with respect to the branch position of an intake manifold connected to each of the intake ports; and a heater that heats fuel injected from the upstream side fuel injection valve. The controller executes a combined injection mode in which fuel injection from the port fuel injection valve is temporarily used when fuel injection from the upstream side fuel injection valve is started for starting the internal combustion engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
