Abstract:

To provide a controller for three-phase rotary machines wherein a current passing through a three-phase rotary machine can be appropriately acquired by taking in the output of a sensing means for sensing a current passing through the switching elements on the upper arm or the lower arm of an inverter.

Shunt resistors Ru, Rv, Rw are connected in series with the switching elements 14, 18, 22 on the lower arm of the inverter 10. The current passed through a motor 4 is acquired by the amounts ru, rv, rw of voltage drop due to them. When a period for which all of the switching elements 14, 18, 22 are on is short, any of the switching elements 14, 18, 22 is held in on state to extend the period.
